Being the student

I’m still trying to get the circus to sleep so that I can have a couple of hours to do some research. It’s always nice to have the house quiet while you’re trying to read on various topics, and I need to be alone sometimes for sanity.
Tonight, I’ll be sitting in the club chair in our family room for a bit enjoying either a glass of tea or wine while I learn more about the universe-some interesting topics.
You really have to make yourself become a student again when you’re homeschooling, and that takes time and work. You have to read what your children read and learn what they learn for an optimal teaching environment. When I first began homeschooling, I thought the idea of learning together sounded like so much fun. Now I know it takes a great deal of work on my part.

Heading to the Met

Up very late finally getting a coat of paint on my nails. They were black from dirt after working in the flower beds-lovely. We are taking the kids into the city soon. Our first stop hopes to be at the Met to see some beautiful artwork. We are reading “From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler,” a classic where the kids spend the night in the museum. Trying to prep them a bit before we get there. They just want to go to Central Park!
