We’ve been away for the past week enjoying the magic of Disney. My husband and I made a rather last minute decision to take a road trip to Florida. It took us 2 days to drive it one way, but the kids did really well. We actually booked the VRBO home we rented on the drive down. It seems that we are just not a family who can plan things too far out in advance.
Fortunately, we had great weather, and what can you say about Disney? It’s just such a magical place. We hit every park arriving when each park opened and leaving after they closed. Our legs hurt every night from the massive amount of walking, but it was worth it. Fast Pass and coasters..
Now, I’m back to reality. The academic month of November has been completely chopped up by our recent travels. I have no regrets, but I must regroup with our studies. I’ve been questioning lately how I’ve been handling our daily schedule, and whether Calvert is providing that elite academic education that I’m desiring for my kids. So, I’ve connected with an educational consultant out of Princeton to help advise me on all of these questions floating around in my head. Am I doing enough? Is what I’m doing subpar? Is our current curriculum working for us? If you don’t have a consultant, let me suggest that as an option for you if you’re experiencing self-doubt and having many questions. Just something to consider..
Off to bed. I haven’t unpacked since we had to go straight to our robotics club and gymnastics after arriving home from Florida. Tomorrow will involve several activities, so maybe I can unpack after those events end. I really need some quality alone time with our books and schedules to see if I need to make some major changes. I don’t see us getting much of a turkey break next week.
