Janus

Our school day was completely altered because of the snow storm Janus. She decided to dump several inches of snow on us along with heavy winds. Unfortunately, my husband was out of town, so that left me with the job of digging us out. We’ve had quite a snowy winter already, so I’m feeling like a bit of a pro in the way of snow clearing. Well, not really. Thankfully, we have a snow blower to help move the initial mounds, but I’m not very skilled at driving the thing. I fell rather hard on my tailbone a couple of times while skiing on the pavers. Man alive, did that hurt. I eventually reached a stopping point with the snow removal and spent the remainder of the evening helping my oldest with a school project that’s due soon.
Hoping a decent night’s sleep helps my aching muscles..

The academic interruptions that I cannot control

Status-post Hurricane Sandy and we are hit with a Nor’easter. We woke this morning to a winter wonderland. Lots of large tree branches are weighted down or now broken from the heavy, wet snow. Presently, we have electric but no phone, cable, or Internet. I sent the kids out to play in the snow so that I could prep their math lessons. While I enjoy taking breaks in our school year, I don’t enjoy the breaks occurring outside of what I’ve planned-ugh..
I should not complain. Many people have it much worse than I do right now. Keep pressing..
