Vampires
Like many families, we are recovering from Santa’s mark he left on our home yesterday. The kids woke around 7 a.m. and forced us out of bed. My husband and I were operating on very little sleep after a night spent wrapping gifts, but the children weren’t concerned about our sleep deprivation. They opened gifts until noon, we had brunch, and my husband and I took afternoon naps after hitting a wall of exhaustion. I began cooking our Christmas meal around 4:00, and we sat down for dinner around 10:30 p.m. Thankfully, my kids are used to our crazy schedule and my cooking. I served turkey, dressing, beans in a bundle, corn casserole, sweet potato casserole, cranberry jelly and rolls. I told my husband our family was resembling that of vampires since we seem to sleep during the day and function at night-ha!
I’m now digging out of the chaos and hoping to begin the process of packing Christmas decorations today. Ready for academic structure..
